About the Ambassador

His Excellency Sulaiman Hamid Almazroui arrived to London in May 2016 to take up his appointment as Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Court of St. James’s.


Prior to his diplomatic posting to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Almazroui held the position of the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg (non-resident), as well as Head of the UAE Mission to the European Union from 2011 to 2016.  


Throughout his career, His Excellency Almazroui held various positions such as the Chairman of Bankers’ Business Group in Dubai, Chairman of Dubai Transport Corporation, General Manager of Group Corporate Communications at Emirates NBD and served as an Executive Member of the Supreme Committee of Al Tomooh Finance Scheme for Small National Businesses.


In addition, Ambassador Almazroui was a Member of the Board of Directors of the following: Diners Club (UAE), Network International, Emirates Islamic Bank, Dubai World, and the Union of Arab Banks representing the banks of the United Arab Emirates.


Furthermore, His Excellency was a Steering Committee Member of Global Compact Network GCC States, a Founding Member of “Banking Business Group”, a Board Member of Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, a Secretary General for the Arab Center for Communication and International Relations (Arab Businessmen Forum), a Coordinator General of the Emirates International Forum and a Chairman of the Media Committee for UAE Banks and Central Bank during IMF/World Bank Meeting in Dubai in 2003.


His Excellency Sulaiman Hamid Almazroui completed his education at the American University in Washington DC, where he obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. Subsequently, he conducted his PhD research at the University of Cambridge in England. Previously, Ambassador Almazroui was a member of the Faculty of Political Science and Administration at the UAE University from 1980 to 1988.
