Sheikha Fatima offers 60 million sterling pounds gift to set up world’s first centre for research into rare diseases in children

Abu Dhabi, 16 July 2014, WAM - Plans to open the world’s first centre dedicated to paediatric research into rare diseases at London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), one of the world’s leading paediatric hospitals, are to become a reality thanks to a 60 million sterling pounds gift from H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the wife of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Founder of the United Arab Emirates, as well as Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and President of the Supreme Council of Motherhood and Childhood.
